Summary: The property was a perfect headquarters for our stay and visits to the southeast of Iceland. The kitchen was well stocked with everything we needed from plates and utensils to even some groceries. The beds were comfortable and the property was a small piece of heaven.

Summary: The house was beautifully designed with a stunning view of the mountains and their property. Host was communicative and helpful. The house had a lot of house essentials to use. Three bedroom and two bathrooms. The only issue we had was figuring out how to lock the door.

Summary: We absolutely loved our stay. We were so amazed at the beauty of the area and of the house. Very relaxing! The enclosed sun rooms were great to relax in and watch the horses, birds, and the mountains in the distance. Soaking in the hot tub was great after hiking. The house is also in a good location to get to glacier hikes and touring Vik and the black beaches. We highly recommend this place!

Summary: This was a beautiful house! It felt so cozy and yet so modern and clean and bright! We were sad to leave it! The house has everything you would need in the kitchen, bathrooms, laundry, etc…. Just perfect!

Summary: From what we saw online, it looked great, but the pictures don't even do this home justice! It was PERFECT! We stayed from January 3-January 9th. We were a group 3 couples staying for 5 nights and this was everything we could have imagined and perfect for us! We all had enough room to spread out, unpack, enjoy, eat together, cook together, play games together, but get away from each other if needed! The patio spaces would be amazing if it wasn't 50+ MPH winds the entire trip, as the glassed in patios were beautiful with incredible views! The owner was very helpful in answering questions along the way, and even stopped by the house to personally answer some questions since he was there to check on the horses on the property! The house had everything we could have needed, plus so much more! We were very sad to leave the house! While it is quite a ways out of town (12km) on mostly dirt roads and could be difficult to find the first time in the dark, it was great to get away as there are no neighbors even close! If the weather would have been in our favor to see the Northern Lights, this house with the patios would have been the most amazing spot. Very little light pollution and open spaces all around! So much to do within an hour or two of the house, which made it a great spot for sightseeing, especially in the winter when daylight is limited, since you could get up (and not super early) and head out on your drive before daylight, and be to your location when daylight hit! I would stay here again without hesitation and would recommend this home to anyone looking for somewhere off the beaten path, yet close enough to the beautiful sights of Southern Iceland!

Summary: A great cabin that is in a genuinely nice place. The cabin is located such that it is a good base for exploring the south coast of Iceland. The check in process is easy and the host is very helpful providing local details.

Summary: Very nice accommodations and kitchen has everything you need. Loved the horses and the location. Which we could have enjoyed more of the views but with 4 hours of daylight it’s hard when sightseeing.

Summary: This was a beautiful house, set among horse farms. The house is in great condition and very clean. It's extremely well stocked with cooking supplies, towels, etc. The quality of the house rivals ones we've rented for three times the price. It's just a beautiful place and has gorgeous scenery to go along with it!My one comment to prospective renters is to ignore the google map on this website. Follow the owner's directions, as it's not easily found on Google Maps. It's south of Ring Road and down to well maintained gravel roads. You'll want to stock up during the day if you're accustomed to city life, as there's not late night supermarket in the area. This is not a negative. You just need to prepare. We cooked every night in the gourmet kitchen after hitting the market during the day. It's a good 10-12 minutes from the town of Hvolsvollur. If you're looking to explore south Iceland and seeking tranquility in a quality house, this is an excellent choice.
